What is a Renaissance Faire?
Our Faire is 20 acres of pure fun! 13 stages offer variety entertainment all day long. In addition, we dazzle you with a fully armored joust, the Queen and her glittering Court, amazing arts and crafts, delicious food, fine spirits, music, dance, parades, rides, and games. Join us for a day of play!
When are you open?
We are open Saturdays and Sundays, April 7 through May 20, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
How much is admission? What does the admission price include?
Adult Single Day is $29.95, Child Single Day (Ages 5-12) is $15 and children 4 & younger are free.
Admission price includes all entertainment: the Joust, 4 parades, over 2,000 performers, music, dance, interactive living history exhibits, craft demonstrations and the battle pageant. Select lessons, activities, and pageants for children are also included.
Do you offer a military/law enforcement discount? Is there a senior discount?
Yes! Members of the military with valid ID, members of law enforcement with valid ID and guests age 62 and over may purchase adult tickets for $28.95 at the Box Office with ID. (Cannot be combined with other coupons or discounts. Not valid for online tickets.)
Is the Faire “cash only”?
Our box office happily accepts Visa, Mastercard, and American Express to purchase your admission tickets. Our box office does NOT accept debit cards or Discover. Our food and drink booths are cash only. Each vendor on site creates their own policy regarding credit cards (although most of them do accept cards nowadays). ATMs are located throughout the site for your convenience.
Can I leave the Faire and come back in?
Yes, you can ask for a hand stamp from the greeters at the front gate.
Can I pick up a special order item from a merchant?
Yes, you can request a “shopper pass” at the Will Call window. The Shopper Pass is only for guests who have already visited the Faire in the current season, and who have a receipt for the item they are picking up. You must leave your photo ID and a $29.95 deposit at the Will Call window. You have one hour to complete your transaction in the Faire and return to the Will Call window.
Is there a parking fee?
Santa Fe Dam Recreational Area charges a $10.00 entry fee per visit. ($14 for RVs, $16 for limousines, and $30 for buses.) Cash, Visa, Mastercard, or American Express accepted.
Santa Fe Dam retains all fees for access.
The Renaissance Pleasure Faire has no control over access pricing.
A Park attendant will collect your access fee.
There is no additional charge for parking on top of what the Dam requires. General parking is estimated anywhere from 300 to 2500 feet away from the front gate. Handicapped parking is available, please have your placard displayed so attendants can direct you to a close parking location.
Uber/Lyft users do NOT have to pay the vehicle access fee. Your driver must show ride confirmation to the gate attendant and you’ll be able to use the pick-up/drop-off point located near the Faire’s front gate!
For Preferred Parking, once into the Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area heading towards the Faire, stay in the right lane and turn on your hazard lights to utilize the Preferred Parking lot. CASH ONLY.
An attendant will meet you and issue you a preferred parking lot ticket. You may then park your car in the preferred parking lot.
If you wish to use the preferred parking to park your vehicle, you will need to pay the $10.00 Park entrance fee and then the $20 Preferred Parking fee at the faire. CASH ONLY.
Limited preferred parking space available but it’s available every Saturday and Sunday, for the entire run.
Preferred parking can only be purchased at the Faire, on your day of arrival. CASH ONLY.
Is there RV parking available? May we remain overnight?
Yes. RV parking is available. There is no additional charge to park an RV.
However, the Santa Fe Dam is not an overnight park. There is no camping of any kind. All vehicles must exit the park each night.
Do you offer Valet Service?
Is Public Transportation an option?
Take the Metro to the Irwindale Station and use your favorite ride share app to get to the Faire. Uber/Lyft users do NOT have to pay the vehicle access fee. Your driver must show ride confirmation to the gate attendant and you’ll be able to use the pick-up/drop-off point located near the Faire’s front gate!
May we bring outside food and drink?
We offer a variety of fresh, delicious food for our guests to enjoy at concession stands throughout our Faire; however, we understand that guests may need to bring food and drink into our Faire. Please note the following guidelines for bringing food and drink into our park:
- Any food required for medical purposes and medically–indicated nutritional supplements
- Any food required for special dietary needs
- Baby food/baby formula
- Picnic lunches
- Food that requires heating or refrigeration
- Alcohol and glass containers (excluding baby food jars)
Do you have Vegetarian, Vegan or Gluten -Free foods available for purchase?
Yes, we offer fresh, healthy alternatives to traditional fare. Our complete menu can be found here. Food booths also feature signs noting which items are vegetarian and gluten-free.
Also, vegetables and starches are fried in different containers than meats.
Do I have to come in costume?
Although many of our guests arrive in costume, we recommend wearing comfortable clothing. However, we feel the experience of the Faire is heightened and more fun when you come dressed to play.
Do you rent costumes?
Yes! Belrose offers costume rentals for all ages and all body sizes.
Child-sized costumes range in price from $8 – $25 (Average price is $15)
Adult-sized costumes range in price from $18 – $65 (Average price is $39)

Wagons are available for rent – $20.
Wheelchairs are also available for rent – $25. Manual Wheelchairs only. We do not have any electric chairs or scooters.
If I wear a costume do I get in for free?
Are shoes required?
Yes. Due to safety & insurance requirements, all guests are required to wear shoes at all times. Tennis shoes, boots, sandals, flip-flops, etc. are all permitted. Bare feet are never appropriate.
May I bring my (costume) weapon?
We want all guests to have a great time while being as safe as possible. All weapons should be sheathed and peace-tied. Exposed sharpened steel is not permitted. Blades must be zip-tied into their sheath and to your belt or baldric. At no point should a bladed weapon ever be drawn from your side/back. Replica firearms must have the trigger zip tied in the ‘fired’ position. Toy guns must have their orange tip on the end of the barrel. Our service people at the entrance gate will assist you if you do not know how to peace tie your weapon.
May I bring my bow & arrow?
Yes. You may bring your bow if it is unstrung, or strung with yarn (or some other line that cannot hold tension). Arrows must be untipped and cable-tied together and secured to the quiver. Our security team at the entrance gate will assist you if you do not know how to peace tie your weapon.
May I bring my instrument?
No. Due to an unfortunate number of people who have brought instruments and attempted to busk in our streets, you may not bring in any instrument except for a drum for our drum jam.

Is the Faire wheelchair accessible?
Yes, with the understanding that we are an outdoor event. The Belrose Costume Rental booth just inside the gate has wheelchairs for rent on a first come-first served basis. Wheelchairs are manual only, $25, no reservations.
Do you have motorized wheelchairs or scooters?
Sadly, we do not have any motorized chairs or scooters at this time.
May I bring a pet?
Service animals are permitted in the Renaissance Pleasure Faire. All other animals and pets are prohibited. Service animals must remain on a leash or in a harness and under the control of the owner at all times. We ask you do not leave animals on the sidewalks and surrounding areas of the park perimeter. In such cases, the appropriate authorities will be notified. All animals must be in compliance with the 2018 LA Parks ordinance http://publichealth.lacounty.gov/vet/rabiesmanualpdfs/petlaws.pdf. Service Dog Relief Areas are available near the Maypole, the bungee trampoline ride, Rogues Reefe stage, and the Military Encampment.
Is smoking allowed?
For the comfort of all guests, smoking of tobacco, e-cigarettes, or other products that produce a vapor or smoke is allowed only in designated smoking areas.
Do you have a lost and found?
Yes, we do! Please call the office at 626.969.4750 to see if your item was turned over to us.
Do you host weddings or private parties?
We do not have facilities for weddings, birthdays, corporate or private parties.
Are there hotels near the Faire?
Yes. There are dozens of nearby hotels, motels, and campgrounds. We do not recommend any hotel over the others. There is no camping at the Faire site or the Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area.
What if it rains?
The Faire is open rain or shine. No rain checks or refunds are offered.
